Time machine

Nearby where we live there's a medieval fair every summer. We are major Game of Thrones fans - still grieving for Ned Stark -, so we never miss a fair and we've been going there together for two years now. We both love History, too. And castles. We love the fact that we can travel in time for a couple of days feeling like two happy kids. The city dresses up with flags and ribbons, we hear music in every corner - the sound of a hornpipe is seriosly insane -, there's typical food and drinks, dance performances and all kinds of animals - including camels and owls. Those were some exotic times. 

We dream of travelling to all of the idyllic medieval scenarios of Game of Thrones, some day, and we have already cross Sevilla off the list (yes, it's even more beautiful than it seems). Do you guys watch the show too?

Perto da nossa cidade, em Stª Maria da Feira, há sempre uma feira medieval em agosto. Como somos grandes fãs de Game of Thrones - ainda de luto pelo Ned Stark, confessamos -, nunca perdemos uma feira e já lá vamos juntos há dois anos. Também adoramos História. E castelos. Adoramos poder viajar no tempo por uns dias e andar por aí como duas crianças felizes. A cidade veste-se com bandeiras e fitas, há música em todos os cantos - o som de uma gaita de foles é só incrível -, há comida e bebidas típicas da época, espectáculos de dança e todo o tipo de animais - incluindo camelos e corujas. Sabiam bem dar uso à palavra "extravagância"!

Um dia, gostávamos muito de visitar todos os cenários medievais idílicos de Game of Thrones, mas já podemos riscar Sevilla da lista (sim, é ainda mais bonita do que parece). E vocês? Também são fãs da série?

Camping days

Hello, guys! If you've read our "about us" page, you already know that we both love camping. We have been doing it once a year ever since we've been together and it gives us an enourmous liberation feeling. This summer, we haven't gone camping yet, so we are bringing you these pictures from last year. They were taken with a film camera we had just bought - our first one - and we remember being so excited to develop these and see how they had turned out. And we were so surprised when they came out good! Since we had never worked with film before, we were honestly expecting a big mess. We also remember that the weather was not on our side, but the fog ended up giving a very cool mystic, horror movie look to the pictures - which we love. Anyone a film photography lover too? We wanna hear all about it!

Hello, guys! Se já leram a nossa página "about us", sabem que ambos adoramos acampar. Desde que estamos juntos, temos acampado uma vez por ano e dá-nos uma sensação de liberdade que não tem preço. Este verão ainda não tivemos oportunidade de o fazer, por isso trouxemo-vos fotografias do ano passado. Foram tiradas com uma câmara analógica que tínhamos comprado recentemente - a nossa primeira - e lembramo-nos de estar super entusiasmados para revelar o rolo e ver como tinha resultado. E ficamos tão surpreendidos quando vimos que tinha saído bem! Honestamente, como nunca tínhamos trabalhado com analógico, não estávamos à espera de boas fotografias.  Lembramo-nos também que não tivemos sorte com o tempo (chegou a chover um bocadinho!), mas o nevoeiro acabou por dar uma vibe muito mística - que adoramos - às fotografias. Alguém desse lado também gosta de fotografia analógica? Queremos saber tudo!

Our own little Bali

Theres is a place we like to call our own. We discovered this beach through a friend who used to live nearby and we fell in love in a second. This is Avintes, a little village in Portugal by the river. We've been coming here since the beggining of summer and it has become our favorite get away spot, since it's so quiet and peaceful. Near the beach there's a little bar - with a very nautical feeling - and the owner has this gorgeous kitten - the grey one in the pictures - who's always walking around the fishermen. There's also a dog who likes to take a dip here and there. And ducks. Occasionaly there are ducks too. Besides the beach, the rest of the village is also the picture perfect place for instagram snaps.

Há um lugar que gostamos de chamar de nosso. Descobrimos esta praia através de uma amiga que costumava viver por aqui e apaixonamo-nos num segundo. Fica em Avintes, uma pequena vila em Portugal ao pé do rio. Temos vindo aqui desde o início do verão e tornou-se no nosso escape favorito, por ser tão tranquilo. Ao pé da praia há um bar pequeno, muito náutico, e o dono tem um gato - o cinzento das fotografias - que anda sempre atrás dos pescadores. Também há um cão que gosta de mergulhar no rio de vez em quando. E patos. Também aparecem patos, ocasionalmente. Para além da praia, o resto da vila é o cenário ideal para partilhar no instagram.

Se se estão a sentir um bocadinho perdidos sobre quem somos nós - já que este é o primeiro post -, temos um texto à vossa espera na página "about us". Esperamos que gostem!
